Sean Connors

Sean Connors is a versatile percussionist and educator with a keen interest in contemporary music. He has appeared with new music groups including the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, eighth blackbird, Eastman BroadBand, International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Metropolis Ensemble, Signal, Society for New Music, Third Coast Percussion, Volta Trio, and Eastman’s Musica Nova directed by Brad Lubman. He has collaborated with such composers as John Adams, Tan Dun, John Luther Adams, Augusta Read Thomas, Helmut Lachenmann, and David Lang. Sean has worked on the board of OSSIA new music, co-founded the Vital Signs new music podcast, organized the Aspen Open Ears Project, and been involved with several commission projects from young composers.  His own composition “No Parking Anytime” for marimba duo will be published by Keyboard Percussion Publications this fall. Sean received a master’s degree from Northwestern University where he won the school-wide concerto competition playing Tobias Brostrom’s ARENA Concerto for Percussion.  He previously attended the Eastman School of Music where he was named a Zildjian percussion scholar and awarded a Performer’s Certificate. He is currently Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point.

Peter Zlotnick

Peter Zlotnick is the Principal Timpanist of the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Salisbury Symphony Orchestras. He also has played percussion with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastern Music Festival Philharmonic, and OSSIA new music. In addition to being a founding member of Amphion, Peter performs as a member of the Philidor Percussion Group and on varied new music programs in North Carolina. He has been a featured soloist with the Greensboro Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Salisbury Symphony, and Northwestern University Contemporary Music Ensemble. Peter serves as Percussion Instructor at Catawba College and the Music Center of Greensboro as well as Education Manager for the Greensboro Symphony. He also has taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Guilford College, and the Hochstein School of Music and Dance in Rochester, NY.
